Who is an International Student?
You are considered an international student if:
- You are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- You will need an F-1 student visa to study in the United States
How to Apply as an International Student
Applying to a U.S. college can feel complicated, but we’ll walk you through it step-by-step.
Choose Your Application Platform
You can apply through Wabash’s own online application or the Common App —both are free.
Submit Required Documents
These are the additional items that you will need in order to complete your application, beyond what is required in the Wabash Application or the Common Application.
School Transcript
Your official school records (transcripts) must:
- Be in English or have a certified English translation.
- Be sent directly from your school to Wabash College (not from you).
Your school should include:
- Grades from the last four years of school (or at least the last three years if you are still in school).
- If applicable: your school leaving certificate, certificate of secondary education, national exam results, or matriculation exam results.
How your school can send them:
- By email: from an official school email address.
- By postal mail: directly from the school to Wabash College.
If admitted and you choose to enroll, your school must also submit proof of graduation and a final, official transcript.
168体育平台下载_足球即时比分-注册|官网 do not accept self-reported transcripts.
International Secondary School Report
This must be submitted by your school counselor and will be sent to them via email after you submit the initial application.
Proof of English Proficiency
All applicants must show a minimum level of English proficiency by sending official test scores directly to Wabash College from the testing organization.
168体育平台下载_足球即时比分-注册|官网 accept the following tests and recommend these minimum scores:
- TOEFL iBT: 85 or higher
- IELTS: 6.5 or higher
- PTE Academic: 57 or higher
- Duolingo English Test: 115 or higher
- SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW): 550 or higher
168体育平台下载_足球即时比分-注册|官网 do not accept self-reported English proficiency test scores.
If English is your primary language of instruction, you may be eligible for a waiver of this requirement.
Passport Copy
International applicants need to send a clear copy of the photo page of their passport. If you are admitted, we will use this copy to help with your visa and admission paperwork.
Declaration of Finances
To be considered for admission, applicants must demonstrate the ability to pay for expenses not covered by Wabash College’s most generous merit-based scholarships. This means the admissions committee will evaluate your ability to cover the full cost of attendance, including tuition, fees, on-campus housing and food, health insurance, books, supplies, and personal expenses when an application is being evaluated for admission into the college.
Applicants must show a minimum of $25,500 USD in available funding on the Declaration of Finances form to be eligible for admission. This amount represents the estimated minimum cost for your first year of study and the form is required to review your application.
While proof of funding for the first year is required upfront, please keep in mind that you will need significantly more funds to complete your entire degree program. Most international students take approximately four years to finish a bachelor’s degree.
Written Statement (Optional)
While the written statement is optional, we strongly encourage you to submit one. It’s a great way for Wabash College to learn more about you beyond your other application materials.
SAT or ACT (Optional)
Wabash College practices SAT/ACT test-optional admission. Applicants are not required to submit these standardized test scores as part of their application for admission. Students who choose not to submit these test scores will still be considered for merit-based scholarships. This review will place additional weight on the rigor of the applicant's secondary school curriculum, his performance in his college preparatory courses, as well as the other submitted application materials. If you choose to submit them, please either have the testing center send your scores directly to Wabash College or have your school send them to Wabash College using an official school email address.
All standardized test score submissions will be super-scored.
168体育平台下载_足球即时比分-注册|官网 do not accept self-report SAT or ACT test scores.
Letter of Recommendation (Optional)
Letters of recommendation are optional and not required for admission or scholarship consideration. However, we encourage you to submit them if possible, as they provide valuable insight into your strengths and character. If you choose to include letters, please have them written and sent directly to Wabash College by a teacher or school counselor.
168体育平台下载_足球即时比分-注册|官网 do not accept self-reported letters of recommendation.
