David W. Peck Lecture and Dinner
Established in 1974 by long-time Wabash College Trustee John P. Collett ’24, in tribute to his fellow member on the board, the annual Peck Lecture and Dinner honors the memory of the eminent lawyer and judge David W. Peck, Wabash College alumnus of the class of 1922.
Peck had a long and distinguished career as a judge and partner in the New York law firm of Sullivan and Cromwell, served as Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court.
The Peck Lecture and Peck Dinner serves as a unique opportunity for Wabash students interested in the law to meet lawyer alumni and to benefit from the wisdom of the Senior Peck Medal recipient. The event also recognizes student Pre-Law award winners in their own right through the College’s Pre-Law Society.
This year’s recipient of the David W. Peck Senior Medal for Eminence in the Law is Jeffrey Rosen, president and CEO of the National Constitution Center. A widely read and influential legal commentator, he also serves as a professor of law at the George Washington University Law School and a contributing editor of The Atlantic, Rosen previously served as the legal affairs editor of The New Republic and a staff writer for The New Yorker.
Rosen leads the National Constitution Center to bring together people of all ages and perspectives, across America and around the world, to learn about, debate, and celebrate the greatest vision of human freedom in history, the U.S. Constitution.
